WHAT SHOTTY SHOULD I GET FOR NEXT SEASON??????

I have been shooting a Remington 870 for 7 seasons now of duck hunting and upland game.  Although a great gun its nothing impressive it just simply works.  I have been thinking about upgrading to a SBE II, M2, Extrema or maybe a higher end remington, browning or winchester.  I really like the SBE II but the price tag is a bit steep for my liking.  Which has lead me to look at Franchi's and Stoegers since both guns use the same action as the SBE II but are assembled at different locations using diffent components besides the action.  Anyone with experience with all the diffent guns your input would be much appreciated.

  1. I can not really talk about the Stoegers or Franchi's as I have never heard or seen one... It is for that reason that I would spend the extra money and get a Extreama II or a Maxus. Another thing is that all Semi auto shotguns wear, it is unaviodable, and if you need parts or work done there is always a gun shop around that services Bretta or Browning. In my opinion you will be happier or and get more "bang for your buck" with a Maxus. That and it's cycle rate is faster than a military M-4 assult rifle!

  2. Cliff thanks for your input. I don't know shit about the Browning Maxus but I will put it up on my top choices to check out. I have been told by other people that I should get that gun as well, but I must admit to a little bias towards benneli just because I have actually hunted with guys who shoot them and they have never had a problem. And the cycle rate for that gun is just silly how in the world does it cycle faster than an M-4? It sounds like a real kick ass gun.

  3. No problem. The only thing that I can say about the Benneli is that if you do go with those you need to get a superblack eagle II or better. I know so guys out here that say the lower end benneli's just dont hold up the abuse of duck hunting. I dont know much about the vinci or the M2 othe than the fact they cost a fortune!

  5. I have been checking out the Maxus and it might be my new favorite but I haven't held it in my hands yet and that is a very big factor for me. I need a gun that pulls up very comfortably without catching. from what I have seen of it the stock has a slim grip which I like and the way it disassembles is awesome.

  7. So I had to get out and check out the Maxus and I really like the way it feels and that it shoots 3.5 in. shells. I think that is going to be the next gun for me. Thanks for the good advice.
